The ladies were professional and extremely patient with everyone, including our dogs. They were relatable and personable. Both Rachel and Korine have a relaxed demeanor which is extremely beneficial in handling our dogs.

We love getting to spend our days teaching dogs and their owners about consistency, reliability, and communication. dogs in shelters, rescues, and foster care are just as deserving of these teachings as well so that they too can live their best lives! We are thrilled to be able to offer this partnership to help create more of a sense of stability for these dogs, and to also educate those who are devoting their time to help them! this sounds like something your group could benefit from reach out via email to discuss it more in detail- Trainingthatheels@gmail.com

Why your group should become a partner!

Aside from all the partnership perks (listed below), things to also consider is what else YOU can GAIN from this partnership program! For instance our group classes can help make sure all your staff and volunteers are on the same page in how daily interactions with the dogs occur. This not only provides you and your staff with a level of safety but the dog gains a sense of stability and structure! If

A common theme we were seeing was dogs having a hard time being adopted over manageable issues that shelters and rescues did not know how to effectively address. We are here to help!

The Classes & Workshops

Master The Heel/ Leash Handling- Group Class $50/ Person

Up to 10 staff or volunteers gain hands on training on how to safely walk a dog on a prong collar or slip lead. We will address the concepts of walking a dog in a heel, so that they are not pulling on the leash along with safety like thresholds so a dog is not just bolting out a door just because it is open. Other topics covered are how to use a prong, getting a dog in and out of a crate, and body language on the walk! This class includes our homework file to go along with it as well. Who wouldn't want to adopt a dog that walks nicely on leash?!

In House Workshop- Group Class $400

In this audit course 10 staff or volunteers will learn about safety when it comes to handling dogs, especially those more difficult ones! Two individuals from your staff will be working side by side with us as we demonstrate a variety of ways to provide structure for a dog in your care. We will address the following as well; reading and responding to dogs cues/ body language, learning to use your body as a tool, kenneling safety and basic leash handling, and how/when to provide structure.

Foster Class- Group Class $500

This class is great to have in your toolbox to have individuals fostering for you to come to! A dog in fostering has that much more opportunity to learn structure and get some training under their belt. A dog that knows some basic commands, or is crate trained can be really intriguing for potential adopters! We cover how to do training basics like obedience commands, structured walks, crate training and more. Holding this class can help you also learn more about those who are fostering for you! 10 spots are available in this class!
